Lemon Tea Tree and Peppermint Dreadlocks Shampoo review

For those with bad scalps or just looking for a good dreadlock shampoo, this is the one.

Once un-wrapped this soap bar gives off a very distinct smell of peppermint and lemon tea tree. It’s a beautiful, refreshing smell that can only be achieved by an organic, herbal product.

After reading previous customer reviews I was sceptical. I’ve tried many products and homemade concoctions for my scalp in the past. I’ve also used prescription shampoos that have never helped as much as I found this shampoo did.

I’ve tried dreading my hair a few times before but my scalp never agreed with anything I have used on it so I’ve always ended up combing my hair out.

This is caused not only by sensitive skin, but where I live we have hard water which means certain cleaning products have chemical reactions which render them useless.

However, this product had some excellent reviews on it and I was very keen to try.

I lathered up the bar as I would with any soap. I found it quite strange to use a soap bar on my head as I’ve only ever used liquid shampoos. I scrubbed the bar along my parting and then around my hair line. After this I just sectioned parts of the scalp off to scrub it in. It lathered beautifully on my head and I just massaged it into my scalp as you would with any other shampoo.

It rinsed out easily and I left my hair to drip dry, and hoped for the best. As the hair dried it became very soft, as if it had been conditioned even though I only used the shampoo bar and nothing else on my hair.

Once It was dry I felt my scalp and it was completely clear and my hair was left wavy and soft with a deep lustre.

However, the scepticism towards this made me want to give it a few more washes. As I said before, I’ve used other products which haven’t worked. They usually seem promising but after a few more washes my scalp becomes a mess of dandruff.

The second wash I repeated the same process and my scalp remained clear and my hair soft. The only difference was it really seemed to encourage my hair to lock. I could see defiant locks occurring.

The third wash, I repeated the same process and it remained clear, soft and my hair had locked up even more.

This product is brilliant.  If you’re looking for something to wash your locks with, this is it. If you’re looking for a product to wash your hair when you begin your locks, this is definitely it. But if you’re just looking for a product to clear up a bad spell of dandruff, then this is it. Having suffered from dandruff for a long time I will be using this product from now on, even if the locks go I will still be keeping a bar of this on the bathroom shelf.

Dreadlock Liquid Shampoo  - Hi there, I finally got round to trying your shampoo. I found it left my dreads feeling nice and clean and smells nice too.. Also it didnt feel like it left any build up behind, however i always do a long rinse to be safe with any shampoo , anyway thank you for posting the item so quick , it came the next day, and I'll be sure to buy more when I've run out.

Curly Girls Dream Cleanser  -  I’m not one to gush over a product on the first use but this is really, really good.  I used a 20p sized blob and gently massaged my scalp, smoothed through the rest of my hair and rinsed.  My hair felt lovely after it.  Clean but not stripped or dry.  I finger de-tangled.  I find it hard to describe scents but it is a light scent that doesn’t linger - sort of citrus type notes in it I think.  I was worried that the product may be too heavy for my lighter curls but it wasn’t - I would imagine that if you have more denser curly hair you may need to use more than I did but its definitely worth a try.  Will I be buying this? - a resounding yes!

Avocado & Kokum Conditioner Bar -  I also used this last night after the dream cleanser and again I am really impressed.  I ‘swiped’ the bar through my hair then left on for 2-3 minutes and then rinsed.  My hair felt lovely.  The thing I liked about this bar is you can add the conditioner where you want it and also how much you want i.e. you could swipe a few times in one place if your hair really needs it.  Scent wise, again light - sort of citrus notes - the scent doesn’t linger so this is a bonus if you are pretty sensitive to smells. The sample size is a really good way to try things.  Will I be buying this again? - yes - though the sample size bar should last for ages so it probably wont be for a while!
After using these products I just used my normal products. Once my hair dried it looked lovely - smooth but not flat.  Today too hair is looking fine and feels lovely.

I have thick natural hair and tried the Citrus blend moisturizing spray and was surprised at how instantly it worked to leave my hair feeling soft and manageable and easy to comb.  I am hooked and use this product everyday the lovely citrus scent is fresh and invigorating and not overpowering. A first class product!

I have dry medium curly hair so I thought I'd try a leave in conditioner. I went for the Creamy Camellia, the smell is fruity yet earthy and fresh; I had never used a leave in conditioner so didn't know if it would have the desired effect but I was pleasantly surprised with the result. It moistened and softened my hair while giving it a fresh and fruity smell that I wouldn't now go without. I'm also impressed with the amount you get, this pot will last for a few months before I head back for more.

I tried the shampoo first, with my usual conditioner, your A&K (avocado and kokum) conditioner bar. I have been suffering from dry, itchy scalp for a few years now, and have dandruff as well. I switched to natural products but that made only a small difference. A few months ago I started using black African soap and that solved the dryness and itchiness problem but since the soap is very rich in shea butter it made my hair very oily and heavy so it wasn't a perfect solution. But now, thanks to you, I am finally in hair heaven!!! My hair smells lovely, it's soft feels light and my scalp is calm, no flakes or itchiness at all. Thanks very much!!!

I then tried the washable liquid conditioner (Light Conditioner for curls). And I must say: I have a new favourite!!!! My hair is soooooo soft after using it, and it doesn't feel weighted down or oily, Just soft lovely curls that hardly need any after-washing product since there is hardly any frizz. It smells so nice and fresh and a little goes a long way. I just love it!!!

I am careful what I put in my hair and only use natural products. You can't get more natural than tea tree and citrus...The bar is solid, lathers up well...my hair and scalp were clean - looked good and felt good.

The cream (Avocado & Monoi de Tahiti Butter) made my hair feel so soft and mositurized. I have chemical free natural hair which is generally dry and needs daily tlc to keep it in good condition. I used the cream and my hair came back to life with a silky glow. I would recommend this cream to anyone. Its light enought to apply everyday with a light fragrance. Its the best daily conditioner I have ever used and I have used a lot. Many thanks from me and my hair
